Lidl, as part of the Schwarz Group and as a responsible and sustainable company, is committed to respecting clear and binding principles in all areas of its business relationships. With the aim of establishing collaborations with counterparties aligned with our values and expectations, also in terms of social and environmental standards, at group level we have adopted a Code of Conduct which provides clear lines of behavior. This Code is inspired, among other things, by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the main conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the United Nations Global Compact and the Paris Agreement on climate change, and contains the mandatory requirements which suppliers must comply with in order to establish or continue a collaboration with Lidl Malta. In this way, we foster loyal cooperation along the entire supply chain, with the aim of ensuring social and ecological standards together with our business partners.
Our code of conduct contains standards on the following issues:
- Respect for human dignity
- Respect for the law
- Prohibition of child labour
- Prohibition of forced labour and disciplinary measures
- Regulation of working conditions and remuneration
- Prohibition of discrimination
- Guarantee of freedom of organisation and assembly
- Guarantee of safe and healthy conditions at work
- Protection of the environment
- Implementation of the standards within the Company
