Through our responsible fruit and vegetable purchasing policy, we aim to promote an even greater sustainability in the fruit and vegetable production. Working closely with our fruit and vegetable suppliers, we aim to promote an increasingly responsible agriculture, both at an environmental level and a social level.
We require that all fruit and vegetable producers are certified GLOBALG.A.P. (Good Agricultural Practices), an international body that promotes sustainable production methods through its own standards and adheres to the GLOBALG.A.P. GRASP (Risk Assessment on Social Practice), which also evaluates work and social practices.
We believe that reducing pesticide residues in fruit and vegetables is a top priority. To this end we collaborate with our business partners to supply fruit and vegetables having a residue quantity well below the legal requirements, clearly contributing to the reduction of pesticides in agro-food production.
We also aim to have an even more sustainable fruit and vegetable assortment by increasing the number of items produced in organic farms.
