Water is an indispensable good for the survival of human beings and for nature. We at Lidl recognize the importance of this resource and have implemented various measures to help preserve fresh water along the entire value chain and reduce water consumption and pollution in our supply chains.
To assume our responsibilities, we are developing a water strategy, with the aim of effectively reducing water risks in our supply chains. To this end, we work closely with stakeholders in their respective countries of origin and with experts and civil society organizations.
Some of the measures adopted are the standards for water saving in agriculture and textile production, the collaboration with certified suppliers and consumer awareness on water saving.
