We systematically reduce environmental impacts, ban hazardous chemicals, and enforce verified social standards to ensure our own-brand textiles and footwear are produced safely, fairly, and transparently.
Mindful of the potential impact that manufacturing chemicals can have on human health and the environment, Lidl systematically works to remove hazardous substances from the production of our own-brand textiles and footwear. Under our Greenpeace Detox Commitment, we set a target to eliminate or replace chemical groups classified as hazardous by Greenpeace with safer alternatives across our own-brand textile and footwear manufacturing by 2020. Furthermore, the majority of our textile products are certified according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, an independent testing system that screen materials for harmful substances based on the specific end-use of the product.
